My Portfolio – Poetry

Back to “My Portfolio”

Here are three of my poems “Nature’s Desire,” “Flower,” and “Sunlight

Nature’s Desire

I ask them to plant a tree
and grow it up to the sun
like a flower blooming

or place a kiss to its branches.

I whisper fly a bee into a honeycomb
and look after him exploring his new home,

or dance around the tree’s roots
and caress the grass for its memories.

I need them to give breath
through the seeds of a dandelion
watching nature’s wishes on the horizon.

But all they seem to do
is prune the branches to a shriveled stump
and steal the life out of it.

Flower

She was like a blooming flower;
full of life and fragrance.

He still left her wilted with heartbreak.

Tell me,
if someone like her:
bright, beautiful, and breathtaking—
can’t keep someone;

How is someone like me
supposed to keep someone
as wonderful and lovely as you?

Sunlight

Some could say that you saved me
Unlike the ones before
No one even comes close
Love, you make me smile till my cheeks are sore
I hope I do the same for you
Genuinely, I don’t think I’ve ever felt this way
How did I get so lucky
To be graced by your sunlight?
